Here at Rooftop Power, we strongly believe that solar energy is the way of the future. Utilizing the power of the sun offers multiple advantages for homeowners, businesses, and the environment. A growing number of Americans are transitioning to solar energy, and there are now over a million solar installations across the country.
During your free consultation, one of our experienced energy consultants will review your utility consumption, conduct a brief exterior property walk-through, and address any initial questions you have about switching to solar energy. This initial step will help us determine if your home qualifies for a solar installation.
When you’re ready to consider solar for your home, our site surveyor will visit to assess your home. They will check the condition of your roof, the electrical setup, and the structural support, and gather any additional information needed for our engineers to fully evaluate your home. This is the stage where we do our homework and ensure that we can deliver the product as advertised.
At this stage of the solar process, our team of engineers will review your unique system design based on your home and energy needs. We will use the data gathered in the site survey step to confirm that your home is structurally ready for solar and ensure that the electrical system is up to code before we start submitting permits.
This step is easy for you. Our interconnection and permit coordinators will file or request all necessary applications through your town hall and utility company. They will then contact you when we are ready to install your solar system. All you need to do is sit back and relax.
Installation typically takes 1-2 days to complete. Our experienced installation crew will be present all day to perform the installation. After the panels are installed, we will provide instructions on how to power and shut down your system for future reference.
We must wait until your local inspector has given us permission to connect your solar system to the power grid. Once the inspection passes and the utility company has been informed, they will install the solar meter and grant us Permission to Operate (PTO). After you have been cleared by your local utility company and municipality, you will start generating clean power from the sun.
At Rooftop Power, we are dedicated to helping homeowners in Rhode Island and Massachusetts reduce their monthly electric bills and contribute to a sustainable future. Our extensive knowledge of the local market ensures that you will have access to the best rebates and incentives available.
