NBC 10 I-Team: RI solar company offers help with unfinished jobs

Utah company Altaray Solar installed Matt Silva, a RI resident over a year ago. He invested about $25,000 into his Warwick home’s solar system and when Matt was having issues contacting his solar provider about having permission to operate and start his savings, he turned to Facebook.

Found on Facebook were multiple Rhode Island customers contracted with Altaray, who were also having the same problem. As it turns out, NBC 10 I-Team investigated and found empty offices once occupied by Altaray in Utah, and a string of subcontractors owed money, one which is suing Altaray for nearly $1.8 million.

After hearing the unfortunate news of the out of state solar company leaving their installed Warwick customers without an operating solar system, Rooftop Power wanted to step in and offer a helping hand. “…those projects were close to completion, something we could step in and take care of rather quickly,” said Scott Brown, co-owner of Rooftop Power in Warwick.

“We’re not from another country or another state way out west. We’re not in Utah. We’re here in the snow, in the rain, so we really understand what it takes to do it right,” said Co Founder, Hyrum Bond. We say it all the time but we truly mean it, being local to you means you are our neighbors after all. We work with you every step of the way instead of handing you off to another company who may not share the same sentiment. After installation and connection, we’ll ensure your new system is running efficiently and you’re 100% satisfied with the project.
